Midwest Sign Case Study
Situation
Midwest sign is a leading distributor of sign, screen printing and digital products. Founded in 1932, they network with the top manufacturers in the industry to bring the highest quality supplies, equipment and services available. Nine locations strong, their territories currently include 13 states in the Midwest and Western states of the USA. Three offices, in St. Louis, Denver, and Minneapolis, serve the territories. When Midwest Sign decided they needed to update and improve their current website to keep up with their company’s needs, they selected Cazarin Web Group out of four web development companies they interviewed.
Research
The next step was for Cazarin Web Group to research and analyze Midwest Sign’s then-current website. They discovered that the company lacked the correct image and also were not using the Internet to communicate correctly with customers. Cazarin provided fresh ideas to promote their products and also a better way to represent each of the locations in the upper midwest.
Planning
The discoveries in the research phase led Cazarin Web Group to the decision to develop mini-websites for each of the locations within Midwest sign. This development enabled each location to handle and communicate their shipping independently and boosted morale within the company by having photos of the staff, giving them a sense of belonging within the company. Cazarin also suggested to implement banners in a tasteful manner to promote products of the manufacturers they represent.
Execution
The original plan for Midwest Sign’s locations was to provide one page for each of the locations within their website. It became apparent, as designing began, that the Midwest Sign locations needed a more detailed position within the website in order for them to feel included as independent locations working together within Midwest Sign. Cazarin Web Group created a website for Midwest Sign which enabled each of the locations to have their own site to handle their territories and shipping needs.
Evaluation
The resulting website was a sophisticated, fresh website which reflected the essence of the company online. The morale of the company was lifted and their efficiency increased due to the changes made to their website. Midwest Sign is able to manage the content of the website. Cazarin Web Group was proud of their product and Midwest Sign was very happy as well. |
